• Station History

St Albans Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade started with a dozen or so local farmers who recognised the need for a suitably equipped group of men who could respond to fire emergencies in the local area.

They started with a pile of sugar bags and a couple of back pack sprayers.  They found an old Blitz truck to carry them and their gear around the rough gravel roads, onto properties and into the surrounding bush areas.

The local Fire Brigade was born.
